Stormrig shouldn't have come up here. She knew it was a stupid idea to venture back into old, unstable territory, but it was too late to turn back now. She had to finish the task she had come here to do in the first place. She had to find Keri, and reassure her daughter that she still loved her in the only way a mother could.
Back in the Warehouse Base where she and her family had been staying since returning to this war-torn world and practically kicked out of the base they had once called 'Home', Keri and her mechfriend had been occasionally visiting (the eldest daughter decided to stay with her father ever since rejecting Stormrig as her mother the week before). Of course, they stayed away from Stormrig so she never knew they were ever around.
That is, until she caught her grief-stricken daughter weeping in the arms of her lover. Stormrig didn't dare interupt their moment, but instead listened to his attempts to calm Keri down and console her, trying to convince the young femme that her family still loved her, despite everything that had recently happened to them. Being the stubborn bot she was, Keri didn't believe him.
That lead Stormrig back to Midland Base in search of Keri. Unfortuantly, she had chosen the wrong time to come as it was late and most of the base was sound in recharge. She could ask some bots still working, but they'd probably report her to Blaster...
Oh, Blaster...What went wrong..?
She hadn't even noticed where she had been going until it was too late. Standing next to the couch in the familiar Rec Room, Stormrig looked down at the recharging figure of her former bondmate: Blaster. Once again he was without his new sparkling, Bonnet. Just recharging with the most peaceful expression Stormrig had seen on him in many, many vorns.
Did he used to be like this...before the War...? She had seen this face before, unscarred and untainted, but it was so forced he might as well have not bothered at all. Even during the long nights of bonding...Very few times was it ever sincere, and she loved every klick of it she could get. Blaster barely stirred from his deep recharge as Stormrig stroked his helm lovingly, kneeling down beside him to be closer.
Her free servo clasped his servo hanging over the edge of the couch and brought it up to rest next to his head. She smiled softly as her other servo cupped his cheek and he mumbled quietly; leaning into her touch slightly. Her lips lightly traced the lines of his scars, savouring the small shivers each touch sent through the mech. He smiled softly.
'Mommy?' Stormrig almost flinched when their sparkling spoke up within her casing, rubbing against her own larger spark and sending feelings of love to her.
'What is it, sweetspark?'
'I feel Daddy.' Oh, no... 'Closer...'
'Wanna feel Daddy more.' Stormrig bit her lower lip and sighed through her vents.
'Okay, sweetspark...' Slowly but certainly, Stormrig rose up and then lowered herself onto the couch, careful enough to not wake Blaster up. She nestled next to him and slipped her arms around him, bring their chests and chambers closer together. If their sparkling still had that bond with him, maybe, just maybe...
'Mommy...Closer. Wanna feel Daddy.'
That was enough to send her into tears.
